    Bear Pallasch

Hi, I'm Bear Pallasch (they/them), MAATC, a queer Romani art therapist who practices from a rights-based approach to trauma through the theoretical lenses of critical psychology and queer theory.

We are always in a state of transitioning. We are always becoming. As a therapist, I will walk alongside you to support you in your journey.

I specialize in working with multi-cultural LGBTQIA2SP+ people throughout their lifespans. Additionally, I specialize in individuals who have experienced treatment trauma in medical and therapeutic spaces. A service I provide is writing letters of support for gender-affirming medical and surgical interventions.

If you are looking for a space to continue your journey towards liberation, I’d be honored to support you.

  • Smiling headshot of Brittney Thomas, therapist at One Love Studio in Chicago, IL

    Brittney Thomas

Hi, I’m Brittney Thomas (any pronoun used respectfully), a social work intern passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for healing and growth.

I believe mental health care must honor our shared humanity while addressing how systemic oppression impacts well-being. Too often, lived experiences are pathologized instead of recognized as sources of resilience.

Inspired by leaders like Audre Lorde, bell hooks, and Mariame Kaba, I center abolition and decolonization in my approach, challenging harmful systems and prioritizing equity and care. Together, we’ll focus on your strengths to build a life rooted in love, joy, and resistance.

  • Ayana Davis

Hello! My name is Ayana (they/she), and I am a social work intern at the University of Chicago.

I have a strong belief that we can create the world we want to live in. My practice is deeply anchored in Black and queer feminism which informs my belief that healing is not limited to a talk therapy environment. I believe that the source of our healing comes from within us, and through creative and somatic modalities such as art-making and movement.

I work with BIPOC queer individuals who are seeking a safe, affirming space to explore identity and reimagine life outside of prewritten scripts. Drawing from a solution-focused lens, I support clients in uncovering new possibilities and living in alignment with their values.

Let’s see what is possible together. I would be honored to accompany on your journey.

I wholeheartedly believe in the power of creativity, whether it shows up in art-making, movement, storytelling, or simply discovering new ways of navigating the world.

I work from the belief that each person has the capacity for growth and healing. My approach is client-centered, empathetic, and responsive to your pace and needs. I often use non-directive methods, giving you the freedom to guide the process in ways that feel meaningful, whether through talking, art, or play.

  • Portrait of Ericka, a bilingual Mexican-American therapist and art therapy intern, smiling warmly. She wears professional attire and conveys a welcoming, compassionate presence.

    Ericka Soto

Hi, I'm Ericka (she/her) LCPC, CDVP, PATP.

As a Mexican-American therapist raised on the South Side, I bring bilingual care and trauma-informed compassion to every session. I believe that healing is an act of liberation, and my purpose is to provide a safe and culturally competent space for this process.

As an art therapy intern, I intend to use art as a conduit for healing, exploring, and processing the impacts of life, trauma, and overall unhealthy experiences to become the best version of yourself. My work is deeply shaped by my experience with survivors of domestic violence, and I specialize in helping people heal from intergenerational trauma, navigate PTSD, and reclaim their sense of identity. Using a Person-Centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, I meet you where you are, helping you explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to bring about meaningful change. My goal is to be a conduit for your growth, because as I believe, "We grow when we feel seen, safe, and supported."
